My name is Matt, my wife’s name is Cheryl, and we love our Rocky Mountains. We are both teachers. Cheryl teaches special education. I work a regular day job but I teach American history at our local university at night.
We have been married for 20 years and we have 4 kids. We love road tripping in the West and seeing our national parks.
When we plan a trip, we look online for videos and websites to help us see and learn about a place before we go. But we often find that videos aren’t very helpful. There are a lot of “Top 10 Lists,” and these are a good starting point. But it seems like there are few videos that give helpful information.
So one day I uploaded a video to YouTube about what to see in Yellowstone. I used a map to show where things are. I received some grateful comments from people who said that planning a trip to Yellowstone was overwhelming. I thought, “really?”
Of course, I’ve been going there for over 30 years, so it isn’t a big deal to me. But I started searching and noticed there aren’t a lot of really useful videos about it. So we started making videos to help people plan their trips out West.
I love history and the American West, and I love teaching it. One thing I’ve found is people tend to like history more when they are at the locations. So my goal is to share some history with you to make your trips more meaningful.
I am preparing some audio guides you can take with you to learn about some of the incredible people and events that helped shape the American West.
We want to share the places and stories we’re passionate about with you.
